Church at Home as Church doors close…COVID-19 and a New Reality.

Sadly Saint George the Martyr Parish was unable to celebrate Mothering Sunday together today at church, and it is uncertain how long it will be until public gatherings will once again be permitted. But we should not be discouraged as our trust is in God and He will see us through this difficult time.

Today I celebrated the Holy Eucharist in the privacy of our home with only myself, my wife, and mother-in-law. But we can be encouraged and strengthened in the knowledge that we are not alone as other Christians are also seeking God’s mercy in their own way. God is with us wherever we call on Him. He will keep us safe in His everlasting arms. The Lord bless you and keep you.

Yours in Christ’s love,

James Krawchuk+

Saint George’s Annual Church Picnic 2019…

Lots of fun this year at our Church picnic on Sunday July 21st following our service of Holy Eucharist. Great food, a birthday celebration, and a rousing game of “Guesstures” between the men and ladies. Better luck next year men!

Advent & Christmas Services 2017

Another year has slipped by.  Once again the season of Advent is here and Christmas is now less than two weeks away.  For some, the days seem to drag on and on.  For others they disappear so fast it’s like being on a never ending roller coaster.  Whatever your situation, it’s important that you halt for a moment and ask yourself, “Where am I headed?”  Advent reminds us that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, came into this world a little over two thousand years ago.  That was His first “Advent” or “Coming”.  The Bible tells us He came in order to save us from our sins (1 Timothy 1.15).  Advent also reminds us that Jesus will come again, but it cautions us that His Second Coming will be to judge the world (2 Thessalonians 1. 7-9).  For those who are prepared, it will be a glorious day.  For those who do not know God it will be for them everlasting destruction.  Advent reminds us of the importance of being ready for that coming day.

If you want to be ready for Jesus at His Second Coming attend Church this Advent to find out how.

Christmas on the Peninsula 2016

Once again Saint George’s participated at this year’s Christmas on the Peninsula, bringing yet another Christmas project for the children to enjoy.  147 children, each decorated a fabric wrapped Christmas cone with tinsel, stars, jewels, snowflakes, and a star on top.   For the first time this year we even had a visit from Saint Nicholas.
